Privacy Policy

Effective date: 09/02/2026. Last updated: 09/02/2026

This policy explains what personal information Effective Auto Retail Solutions collects through effectiveautoretail.com, through advertising forms on third-party platforms such as LinkedIn, and by phone and email — and what we do with it.

We are a small research and advertising practice. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

1. Who we are

Effective Auto Retail Solutions ("we", "us") operated by Andrew Reutsky Design, full address provided upon request (andrew.reutsky@effectiveautoretail.com) Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Privacy contact: andrew.reutsky@effectiveautoretail.com
Phone: 888-837-7738 (U.S. and Canada, toll-free), any day, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET

Andrew Reutsky is the individual accountable for personal information under this policy.

2. What we collect

When you submit a form on our website
Full name, email address, phone number, province or state, the source you arrived from, any additional details you choose to provide, and your responses to optional checkboxes.

When you submit a LinkedIn Lead Generation Form connected to one of our ads
LinkedIn provides us with the information you confirm on the form. Depending on the form, this includes your first name, last name, email address, company name and job title, along with your response to any optional consent checkbox. LinkedIn pre-fills these fields from your LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn's own handling of your information is governed by the LinkedIn Privacy Policy, not by this one.

When you email or call us
Your contact details and the contents of your message.

When you visit the website
Standard technical information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the referring site or advertisement.

We do not ask for and do not want customer records, deal jackets, CRM exports, financial account details, government identification numbers, or any information about your dealership's customers through these forms. If you send us information of that kind unprompted, we will delete it.

3. Cookies, analytics and advertising tags

Our website uses:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use the site.
  • The LinkedIn Insight Tag, to measure the performance of our advertising and to show ads to people who have visited the site.
  • Webflow, our hosting provider, which sets cookies necessary for the site to function.

Analytics and advertising cookies are not necessary for the site to work. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting them, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the consent banner.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and manage LinkedIn ad settings in your LinkedIn account.

4. Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry, application or call
  • Assess applications for the Banner-VIN-Profit replication study and notify applicants of the outcome
  • Send you the research materials you requested
  • Contact you about a live presentation, workshop or research review, only where you have asked us to
  • Measure which advertising brought people to the research
  • Meet our legal and record-keeping obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not build profiles about you beyond the advertising measurement described above.

5. Consent, and how to withdraw it

We only send commercial email to people who have asked to hear from us, as required under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Where you tick a box asking us to contact you, that box is your consent, and it is always optional.

You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by writing to andrew.reutsky@effectiveautoretail.com. We will action the request promptly and, in any event, within the period required by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

6. Research data

The published research relies on data supplied by a participating dealership under a separate written agreement, not on information collected through this website.

If your dealership participates in the replication study, the data you contribute is governed by that participation agreement, which sets out what is collected, how it is anonymized, how long it is kept, and what is published. Nothing in this policy replaces or overrides it. Published research reports aggregated and anonymized findings. We do not publish the name of a participating dealership, its customers, or its staff without written permission.

7. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to run the site and respond to you. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

Several of these providers store data on servers in the United States, which means your information may be transferred outside Canada and may be accessible to authorities there under the laws of that jurisdiction.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and application records for 36 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we are required to keep them longer. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Provide a copy of it
  • Correct anything inaccurate
  • Delete it
  • Stop contacting you

Write to andrew.reutsky@effectiveautoretail.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

If you are in the European Economic Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a U.S. state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to object to processing. Contact us and we will honour them.

10. Security

We limit access to personal information to those who need it, use reputable providers, and keep records in access-controlled accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

This site and our research are directed at automotive retail professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.

13. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, contact us first at andrew.reutsky@effectiveautoretail.com. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to your provincial privacy regulator.
